A Countryside Wedding at Eden Leisure Village

Alexander & Ashleigh can’t thank the team at the beautiful Eden Leisure Village enough for helping plan their wedding.

Alexander & Ashleigh reminisce:

How long were you looking for your wedding venue and what made you choose them? Following our engagement we started looking for a venue in the late summer looking at both urban and rural venues. Over the course of a few months we visited Eden twice. Eden had many of the things that we were looking for; a good location for both of our family’s, a beautiful setting with plenty of outdoor and indoor space, and onsite accommodation. But mostly the professionalism and warmth of Janet and Des. First impressions matter, and when touring other venues we felt everything from total disorganisation to pushy sales tactics. When arriving at Eden we felt welcomed and we immediately admired the way everything felt so well organised but still relaxed which put us at ease. Ultimately, this along with the lovely setting, led us to choose Eden.

On the big day, how did your wedding coordinator ensure all ran smoothly? I (Alexander) stayed in the lovely chalet the night before. It was good to have a quiet spot to get ready for the ceremony. A few hours before guests arrived, Janet ran through the last minute preparations, showed me the ceremony area and marquee (which truly brought our vision to life) and checked in on instructions to be communicated to the catering team. Janet and Des along with Caroline from Regis Banqueting are total pros. They only subtly asked us questions when really needed, allowing us to relax and enjoy our day.
With makeup being provided by Take Two and photography by The Whole Picture, it was really a whole family effort to deliver our special day. They really are simply fantastic at what they do. Hospitality is an art and Eden delivers it beautifully.

How did your venue assist in the planning for your big day and how was the overall planning experience? Janet is a pleasure to work with. I had all my spreadsheets and to do lists, but those can’t prepare you for all the nitty gritty details of wedding planning. Any question I had, Janet had the answer. She kept me to deadlines and was patient and helpful when we were being indecisive!
The wonderful thing about having a wedding at Eden is how they connect you with suppliers, making the process so much easier! Our caterers, photographer and make up artist were all associated with the venue, and similar to Eden we could not have had a more positive experience with them all. Setting up the day before, Janet continued to be a star in helping us organise every detail. Des was a superhero and handyman extraordinaire. He put up signage, made sure the grass was cut to perfection and was around to answer any questions we had. He was just a really calming influence throughout.

Who was your chosen Photographer and why did you choose them? Bethany from The Whole Picture. Finding the right photographer was really important to us, we wanted to find someone who made us and our guests feel at ease, as well as taking excellent photos. Bethany was brilliant, she was relaxed and organised from start to finish and really captured all the little moments that made the day magical. We met with her before the day to discuss photos that we would like and locations of those photos leading to some incredible and distinct photos as you can see here.
