Lucky In Love at Barony Castle

Chloe & Cameron held their wedding celebrations at the flawless Barony Castle.

Chloe & Cameron reminisce:

How did your partner pop the question? Cameron proposed at the top of the Forth Road Bridge on Christmas Eve night. It was absolutely freezing, but the setting couldn’t have been more magical. We stopped to take a selfie, and as I turned back around, there he was, down on one knee. The surprise, the setting, and the moment felt perfect – I finally got my Monica moment from Friends!

What encouraged you to pick your wedding venue? We chose Barony Castle in Peebles, Edinburgh, for our wedding venue because of its stunning grounds, which created the perfect backdrop of our special day and the overall experience it offered. The value of the Baronial package was a big draw as well, as it included so many essential elements of the wedding, meaning we didn’t have to worry about organising every detail. The package provided excellent cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality, making it an ideal choice for us.

What was the theme of your wedding? Our theme was modern chic, with a focus on elegance and simplicity. We chose a colour palette of white and ivory, which was reflected in the flowers and decor. The seats were adorned with stunning white drapes, creating a soft and sophisticated atmosphere. Candle lit centrepieces added a delicate touch down the sides of the aisle which created a warm, romantic ambiance. A beautiful flower arch served as the centrepiece, adding a touch of nature and romance to our ceremony. Overall, we aimed for a timeless yet contemporary style that complemented the stunning setting of Barony Castle.

How did your venue ensure everything ran smoothly in preparation for the big day? The venue played a huge role in ensuring everything ran smoothly leading up to our big day, thanks to Hannah, the coordinator. She was absolutely brilliant! We had multiple meetings with her, and she was always just an email away to answer any of our many questions. She truly gave us peace of mind throughout the whole process. Hannah was also in constant communication with our suppliers, making sure all the details were in place and everything was in order. On the day itself, she was a true professional, ensuring everything went according to plan. Even if something didn’t go exactly as expected, we were none the wiser, thanks to Hannah’s seamless coordination.

Was your wedding day everything you could have hoped for? Yes, our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for – and more! It was a dream come true, and we truly felt like the luckiest couple in the world. From the beautiful venue to the flawless execution of every detail, it was beyond our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day, and we will cherish those memories forever.

Who was your photographer and why did you choose them? Our photographer was Brian Cassidy, who came highly recommended as part of the package we chose. Brian has worked with Barony Castle for many years, so he knows the venue inside and out, which made us feel confident in his ability to capture every special moment. He was not only a professional but also a joy to work with – he made us laugh throughout the day and kept the atmosphere light and fun.
