DREAM WEDDING
Nicola & Mitch said “I Dhu” to the enchanting wedding of their dreams
We decided to get married at the beautiful Ghillie Dhu with it being in the centre of Edinburgh, a place close to our hearts with us both having Scottish family ties. The Ghillie Dhu in Edinburgh, with its gothic architecture, provided the perfect romantic backdrop for our November winter wedding. It had rained quite heavily on the morning of our wedding day, but then came away with some moody clouds with some gorgeous light dispersed by the time of our ceremony. I walked down the candle-lit aisle to an instrumental version of Kate Bush’s ‘Cloudbusting’, which served as the perfect soundtrack capturing the magical mood of the day. We had a Humanist ceremony which felt very personal to us. Whilst our guests enjoyed drinks and canapes, Mitch and I ran across the street to the Johnnie Walker Experience to take some photos from their rooftop, which has stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. We then enjoyed speeches and a delicious 3-course meal back at Ghillie Dhu before hitting the dancefloor for a rather chaotic cèilidh with live music by The Jacobites!
